The Spit of Vasilievsky Island is considered one of the best architectural ensembles in the world. And rightfully so!
Arrow of Vasilievsky Island in winter, spherical panorama of 24 frames.
In the 18th century, the confluence of the Bolshaya Neva and Malaya Neva rivers was deserted. This is a Model of St. Petersburg of the 18th century in the Admiral shopping and entertainment complex near the Admiralteyskaya metro station. On the left - the buildings of 12 colleges, in the front - the Kunstkamera, in the background - the market and port buildings. On holidays, rostral columns flare up with gas torches, but only on the most significant holidays of the year.

Neva and Strelka of Vasilievsky Island View of the spit of Vasilievsky Island in winter. From left to right - the Exchange, the rostral column (behind it the Northern warehouse), customs. Photo from the coast of Hare Island . View from the left-bank base of the Troitsky Bridge . Celebratory fireworks on the day of lifting the Siege of Leningrad .
Grand model Russia: Spit of Vasilievsky Island, Stock Exchange building, Zayachiy Island, Peter and Paul Fortress, Peter and Paul Cathedral, Neva (with a sailing regatta taking place on it).
Exchange . The arrow acquired its completed appearance after the building of the stock exchange was built in 1814 (architect Toma de Thomon ). True, by that time the port had been moved to the western part of Vasilievsky Island.
The majestic ensemble of the Spit of Vasilievsky Island from a helicopter: the Exchange, rostral columns, the water area of the Neva. At the top left is a piece of Hare Island and the fortress of St. Petersburg . North and South warehouses, despite their utilitarian purpose, are aesthetically pleasing and symmetrical.
Do not moor! Since the city is specific, then the signs are specific.
I got cold . The mooring rings are made purely for beauty.
Air!
One and a half lorry Some kind of film was filmed and an anti-aircraft gun, two Lorries and anti-tank hedgehogs were deployed on the spit of Vasilyevsky Island. During the years of the Blockade, anti-aircraft batteries were located here.
Red sky. Orange salutes of fireworks on the Day of lifting the Siege of Leningrad.
Rostral columns are installed as a symbol of victory over Sweden in the Great Northern War, decorated with stylized Roman-style ships' noses. At the foot of the columns there are 4 statues, supposedly symbolizing the great Russian rivers - Neva, Dvina, Dnieper and Volga. This is a relatively recent invention, Thomas de Thomon himself wrote: "The base of each column is decorated with huge figures that symbolize the deities of the sea and commerce." The rostral columns have never been lighthouses either, and before the advent of electric lighting they served as lanterns. The tradition of lighting fires on them for the holidays was introduced in 1957.
