< The Cathedral Mosque in St. Petersburg is the largest in Europe. But the uniqueness of this mosque is not so much in its size as in the synthesis of Northern Art Nouveau architecture and traditions of religious architecture of Asia. Russian architects in this architectural masterpiece managed to harmoniously combine rough Finnish stone in the decoration of the walls with ornate sophisticated majolica and lattice decors. The stylization is so successful that for all its uniqueness, its naturalness is beyond doubt.
