Paraskeva Fridays Church in Kalachnaya Sloboda
The Paraskeva Friday Church in Kalachnaya Sloboda, built in 1747, was heavily rebuilt after a century. In 1931 it was closed and became a warehouse. The nearby bell tower is broken. Reopened in 1995 and renovated.

Sculpture of Peter and Fevronia
Sculpture of Peter and Fevronia on Pervomaisky Boulevard. I included this sculpture in this note, because it including religious topics. Monument to Peter and Fevronia, Yaroslavl

This monument was unveiled on July 8, 2009, the author is Konstantin Chernyavsky.

The same author created similar sculptures in Arkhangelsk, Sochi, Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Tula, Kirov, Tolyatti, Astrakhan and St. Petersburg. What a prolific character!

Regency School at the Yaroslavl Theological Seminary. In the background is the Kazan Nunnery, domes of the Kazan Cathedral (according to reviews they praise the monastery refectory, I will be in Yaroslavl - I will certainly wrap it up).

“Horse in apples”
With this horse I was very angry :) Small architectural form “Horse in apples ”. A young lady passing by, seeing me photographing, smiled. That would be more of this in the cities of Russia!

By installing the sculpture, the local authorities decided to remind the townspeople about the horse-drawn carriage yard, which used to exist nearby, on the Kotoroslnaya Embankment.

Well, in the background is the Church of the Mother of God of Tikhvin (left) and the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (right). Both XVII century buildings.

Fedorovsky Cathedral





Fedorovsky Cathedral, Yaroslavl, Bolshaya Fedorovskaya St., 72.

It was built in 1687 by the inhabitants of the Tolchkovskaya Sloboda, who were engaged in the leather industry.

Another of the famous Yaroslavl churches is the Church of Elijah the Prophet on Sovetskaya Square (a 17th-century church on the site of the very first church in the city, founded by Yaroslav the Wise). And also - the Church of the Origin of the Honest Trees of the Holy Cross that is on the City, the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, the Church of Nikita the Great Martyr, the Church of the Presentation of the Lord.
