There are many funny folk names in the cities of Russia.
Catherine II, actually “Kat'kin Garden” (aka Ostrovsky Square), Alexandrinsky Theater and the remnants of New Year's luxury.
There are many funny toponyms in St. Petersburg: the monument on Vosstaniya Square - “the bayonet in the throat of Nevsky Prospect”, the monument on Moscow Avenue at the entrance to the city - chisel, etc. Understandable only to St. Petersburgers "on Vaska", "on Peter".
