Moscow Triumphal Gates - the world's largest cast iron construction, St. Petersburg, Moscow Gate Square. The height of the Moscow Triumphal Gate is 24 meters, width - 36 m, and the height of the colonnade - 15 m.

Was built in 1834 - 1838 under the project of architect Stasov after the victorious end of the Russian-Turkish war of 1828-1829. The inscription over the colonnade was compiled personally by Emperor Nicholas I: "To the victorious Russian troops, in memory of the exploits in Persia, Turkey and during the pacification of Poland in 1826, 1827, 1828, 1829, 1830, 1831".

Postcard: Moscow Gate, 1910s. The Moscow Gate was solemnly opened on October 28, 1838 . In 1936 year, the Moscow Gate was dismantled to move closer to the new city center, planned on the Moscow Square .

They were restored only in 1959 - 1960, though they were not lost well, like the monument of Glory melted down in 1930 near the Trinity Cathedral of the Life Guards. Izmailovsky regiment or a monument to the exploits of the Sapper battalion.
