Most complicated mechanism and the beautiful jeweller work decorating one of halls of the Small Hermitage — clocks «Peacock». It is the work of English engineer James Koksa brought to Russia in the disassembled kind and restored Russian mechanic I.I.Kulibinym. Clocks have arrived to Russia in 1781, by request of G. A. Potyomkin for empress Catherine II testing weakness to such mechanical creations.
