Main street of St.-Petersburg. On a legend, the city founder — the emperor Peter I has personally designed 3 cores radial perspective, beams dispersing from a building Admiralties. In a XVIII-th century the river Fontanka was city border , now Nevsky prospect was stretched on 4,5 km from Admiralties, to the Alexander Nevsky Lavra (monastery) with a small break on the Revolt (Vosstaniya) Square.
Nevsky prospect — the major highway laid since the first years of the basis of a city at first as a glade in wood for communication with road on Moscow, passing approximately under the present — Lithuanian avenue. Initial width of the avenue has remained on an initial site — to the Moyka river.
Neva it was repeatedly planted trees and shrubs. With 1864 on it went conca, with 1907 — a tram (it is removed in post-war years). At Neva — trade concentrated. Since second half XIX century business life of a city began to concentrate: bank and firm buildings, trading constructions and profitable houses have been built. strongly damaged during the Great Patriotic War, the avenue — in 1950 has undergone th years to labour-consuming restoration during which time a — number of buildings has been cleared away from the stratifications deforming their original form. The avenue has been arranged well.
In the beginning 90, during rough transition from the developed socialism by underdeveloped capitalism, Neva has not avoided a fate of the majority of avenuees and there was all hung advertising and extensions. Local authorities praise that in the form of an order extensions have been cleaned also advertising is strictly limited.
