Walk continuation in Port Louis, capital of Mauritius. The beginning: trip to Mauritius: Port Louis, part 1.
In the market and on small streets around there is a brisk trade.
Market of Port Louis. Towels with a bird Dodo — symbol of Mauritius
Muslim mosque. Over street green and white flags in honour of Mohammed's birthday are hanged out. The Chinese pagoda in the distance is seen.
Street signboards, as well as guide signs, on Mauritius the extremely poor. This exception of the rules.
Thorns at mosque doors.
Old man on a motor scooter.
Mulatto on a motor scooter. As I wrote in the first part, motorcycles and motor scooters in Port Louis was appeared less, than I expected.
Small street of Port Louis.
Old big-eyed Fiat. On Mauritius the Japanese car industry dominates: Nissan, Toyota and Mitsubishi. It is not enough european cars.
Wonderful neighbourhood: an Islamic mosque and Chinese pagoda. Most likely not a mosque, and madrasah, but it is not important.
Old wooden house.
In the Chinese quarter indexes of streets duplicated also to Chinese language.
Even a portion of old small houses:
Shop on the ground floor — indispensable attribute of such small houses.
View on a mosque minaret. Surrounding building prevents to photograph a mosque entirely. Can from roofs of neighbouring houses it would turn out.
Florid lattice of a mosque. It is made simply, but the mosque looks rather pleasantly, as well as.
Car of the Hindu. At drivers of buses all much more abruptly, photo will be in next post.
Don't put fork in pipe! Actually, the «signal is forbidden».
One of main sight of Port Louis — the Cathedral of sacred Louis.
Garden before St. Louis Cathedral:
Garden of the St. Louis Cathedral.
Monument of St. Louis
Pyramidal monument with fountain.
Cross before a cathedral with the crucified Christ.
Interior of the St. Louis Cathedral. Whether I was unsteady about a cathedral to me the passer-by has approached and has asked I speak in French or English. I have answered that a little in English and it has told to me that on a cathedral belltower is possible to rise and examine vicinities. Cathedral has been opened, but the ladder — is closed. Fail.
And as the curtain fell: an aqueduct. From the second attempt we all the same could find it.
