Mihajlovsky Castle

Mihajlovsky Castle is constructed on a place of the taken down palace of Elizabeth Petrovny in board Pavel I. After murders Pavel I the Castle has been transferred Engineering school, paternal and the second name has gone: the Engineering Castle. There is at Mars field at a junction Moyka and Fontanka.

Unlike other residences of Russian emperors Mihajlovsky was really the Castle. Thanks to in addition dug channels it has been completely surrounded by water, it was possible to get inside only on a drawbridge.
