Day of the fifth trip in Sicily. Selinunte — the Greek city left by inhabitants still in the ancient time. The weather was gloomy and photo is't well.
Selinunte, in respect of sights, concedes Agrigento, but it less «licked» and is less trampled.
Ancient Greek Selinunte very favourably was — from it no distance to the north of Africa and Malta, to it it was a tidbit for Carthago. The city repeatedly passed from hand to hand, three times was completely destroyed and finally has been left by inhabitants, after capture Saracens.
In Selinunte ruins of temples are called by letters because their names are for certain unknown. It, not bad enough remained «Temple E», so-called the «Temple of Hera».
In the distance ruins of «Temple C» and a view to Mediterranean sea are seen. From it there was only a colonnade.
Selinunte possessed powerful fortification. At building of strengthenings, certainly, archaic constructions actively understood. On a background unique from the remained colonnades of «Temple C».
Reconstruction of a general view of a fortress. Photos from one of stands, the blessing on territory stand dozen tablets on which in five languages is described concrete ruins/objects.
To northern collars of a fort conducts perfectly remained bridge.
The bridge to northern collars of a fort of a fortress.
Northern gate of a fortress. The bench one on some hectares, will be no place so more to sit down. With urns too hardly.
The avenue from Northern gate through a fortress and the Acropolis
On territories of a fortress and all districts of the Acropolis stones are chaotically scattered. Many with the drawn figures or the beaten metal tablets — restorers on particles try to restore separate elements.
The heap of columns and stone blocks is no time existing Temple G.
The base of one of temples, more remains nothing.
Way to Temple C and to the Acropolis from the sea.
Colonnade of the Temple C and ruins of antique constructions.
Heap of columns, the rests of the Temple C (on a background its colonnade)
View to Temple Е.
Stone blocks and parts of columns are scattered on all district.

The nature and vegetation in this district suspiciously reminds our midland unless agaves are beaten out. Besides, hasten to see what in Sicily the end of March.
Marinella — small town at coast Mediterranean sea near to the thrown ancient city Selinunte.
Coast Mediterranean sea, a view in the opposite party from Marinella.
The most amusing that on the city territory it is possible to get and it is free, because the district is not limited by any fence, and cash desks only on the one hand. Prevents to reach nothing any of nearby settlements and to walk on foot to ruins.
For an additional payment it is offered to pass on territory on an electropenalty (€3 on a small dog circle, €6 — on big), but I would advise to take a walk on foot. Distances there small, at most you will reel up 3 km — but easy at all look. And electropenalties will make 2–3 stops for small time and all — you will see only a small part.
From the archeological excavations conducted from second half of a XIX-th century, the found mosaics/bas-reliefs/high reliefs and separate elements of facades of structures are taken away on local museums so in Acropolis Selinunte territory now there were only massive blocks.
